This is the fifth film in the documentary series Gillian Armstrong has been making about the lives, hopes and dreams of three ordinary, but extraordinary, Adelaide girls since they were fourteen in 1976.

Over more than thirty years, Kerry, Josie and Diana’s struggles have captured all our hearts.

This landmark series began with Smokes and Lollies (1976), continued with 14’s Good 18's Better (1980) and Bingo Bridesmaids and Braces (1988). In 1996, the Award-winning Not Fourteen Again focused on the then 33 year-old mothers and their teenage daughters.

In 2009 Armstrong returned to Adelaide to explore where Kerry, Josie and Diana – and their families – are now. There have been some significant changes in their lives, changes that make Love, Lust & Lies compelling viewing when new and old footage is interwoven.

Now they are 47, the women’s stories resonate with universal themes of growing up, work and money, love lost and found, marriage, and the conflicts and complexities of family life.

Love, Lust & Lies provides a unique social record of Australian society from the mid 1970s to the present day.
